Stones Blocks in Outer Walls of Herodian Temple

At the corners of the outer wall Herod's engineers used larger than usual blocks to be able to resist the pressure exerted from the fill behind them.

The size of the stones used in the construction of the outer western wall of  Herod's Temple is shown by their size relative to human beings.  But these blocks were by far not the largest used in the construction of the Temple.
