Further north along the outer western wall is found an arch named for its discoverer in the 1860's, Charles Wilson.  This arch once supported a bridge spanning the Tyropoean valley and leading to a gate into the outer courts.  "Wilson's Arch" is now  accessible only through rooms set aside for the purpose of prayer situated north of the "Western Wall" plaza.
