The "Burnt House"
The so-called
"Burnt House," excavated in the "Upper City" in Jerusalem, is believed
to have been destroyed by the Romans under Titus in 70. The ground floor
of this houses consisted of a small courtyard, four rooms, a kitchen and
a mikve. There is evidence that the house and its contents were destroyed
by burning. |
