Date Written - c. 465-331 B.C.
Because the author is unknown it is also difficult to say with certainty when the book was written. Esther 10:2 states that the book was written after the death of Ahasuerus or Xerxes. Xerxes was assassinated in 465 B.C. and the Persian empire fell in 331 B.C. and so the date of writing would fall in this period. (465-331 B.C.)
