City Definitions |
This is a sample of the city Definitions which can be accessed in the program by selecting the city displayed on the Map. They can also be accessed from the Bible Topics and Text. There are 190 cities defined. Many have Multimedia features attached to them as is seen in the following example.
Below is a sample of the box which pops up when you click the name Jerusalem on the map.
The central city in Palestine. In Abraham's day Melchizedek the royal priest lived here under the name of the city Shalem. Even then it was a place of Godly religion. Hebrews 7:4-7 Genesis 14:18 It later became occupied by Jebusites until David took the city of Zion and called it after himself. 2 Samuel 5:6-9 This was the capital of Israel. God said he would place his name here in the midst of the Nation. Deuteronomy 12:5,11
During the Exile it was occupied by foreign nations. Following the Exile it was reoccupied by Israel who were allowed to rebuild the temple and fortify their walls. Nehemiah 3 In Herod's day it became the capital again. It was destroyed and the temple burned by Titus in 70 A.D as prophesied by Jesus in Luke 19:41 It was rebuilt as a secular city by Adrian dedicated to Jupiter. It was later occupied by Mohammed rulers and later the Christian Crusaders.
